Madras HC quashes Tamil Nadu’s guideline value hike for property registration
Citing procedural infirmities, Justice P Velmurugan set aside the circular, saying that though government had the authority to increase the guideline value, it had to be done as per the procedure contemplated under the rules, which mandate constitution of an expert committee and public hearing before implementing the hike.
